I left my…sense of normalcy in San Francisco

Anyone who knows the Bay well is aware that San Francisco is a land of many magical, mystical free-thinking hippie-like people. I’m kidding, SF stereotypes aren’t completely true, although they aren’t completely false either. Many individuals living in and near SF are rather liberal-minded. To this day I’m not quite sure whether the interesting characters actually live in SF, or if The City simply attracts such personalities. Either way, San Francisco is a never ending fountain of interesting (verging on bizarre) stories spewing out the most random events n’ headlines. Case and point –

After some research (basically simply googling “yoga rave”), I found that this event is part of a national tour. Nonetheless I still find it hilarious that of the four cities chosen for this tour, SF was one of them. It sounds like something hippies would have created. I can imagine all the organic-non-processed-food-yoga-going health freaks who would show up to this event. The part of the event description I laugh at the most is “Rocking (Substance-Free) Party”. I never thought I would ever see the words “substance-free” used to describe a rave.

Hilarity of the nature of the event aside, if we’re talking about the actual event, I feel like this is nothing more than a money-making endeavor. Either that or a person was bored and decided to be “innovative” by combining two things that already exist. Either way, it earns a –
